SpiceJet offers tickets cheaper than train fares

Flying is now cheaper than chugging along. Low cost carrier SpiceJet on Wednesday launched all-inclusive fares starting from Rs 599 and Rs 3,499 for domestic and international flights, respectively. The LCC is offering four lakh tickets under this scheme for which bookings are open up to Friday for travel between July 1 and October 24, 2015.

This is the lowest fare offered by SpiceJet which has since last year year been dishing out discount schemes in a bid to raise some cash. The latest offer is also a bid to win back customer confidence as it is in the midst of a major revival scheme that has seen co-founder Ajay Singh coming back to the airline.

The "cheaper than train fares" scheme is available for international flights (except Colombo, Kabul and Dubai-Ahmedabad-Dubai sectors), at all-inclusive fares starting at Rs 3,499.

Under this offer, tickets on routes like Hyderabad to Vijayawada, Delhi to Dehradun, Guwahati to Kolkata, Ahmedabad to Mumbai, and Bangalore to Hyderabad all are priced at Rs. 599 only. International flights start as low as Rs 3,499 all-inclusive for Delhi to Kathmandu. Out of the four lakh seats under this offer, one lakh are at Rs 599 all-inclusive fare.
