Aviation, defence firms evince interest in Andhra Pradesh
Some of the top global aviation and defence sector companies have expressed their interest to consider working in Andhra Pradesh on some of the State’s plans and projects, as well as the respective company initiatives.
This assurance comes during a meeting that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had with CEOs of 11 prominent companies from aerospace, defence and aviation sectors after the Aero India 2015 show in Bangalore today.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, Naidu had separate meetings with representatives from Sukhoi, Sikorsky, UTC, Rafael, Elbit, Boeing International Corporation India, Raytheon International Inc, Bell Helicopter India, Honeywell India, GE Aviation and delegates from the American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM - India) and the US-India Business Council.
During a presentation made to CEOs and industrialists, he elaborated the State’s plans to establish defence and aerospace hubs and the reduction in tax on Aviation Turbine Fuel from 16 per cent to 1 per cent to attract airliners.
