M&M sets up new aerospace company in Australia


Mahindra & Mahindra has Incorporated a subsidiary 'Airvan 10 Pty Ltd' for the aerospace industry in Australia. 
"Airvan is incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Gipps Aero Investments which in turn is a subsidiary of Mahindra Aerospace Australia Pty, Australia," M&M said in a BSE filing. 
The company was incorporated on December 10. 
"Airvan is incorporated for design approval from Civil Aviation and Safety Authority, Australia for the 10 seater aircraft under development," the filing said. 
Mahindra Aerospace Australia Pty, Australia is subsidiary of M&M group firm Mahindra Aerospace.

COVID-19 impact: Indian aviation sector may lose $4 billion in FY21, says CAPA India

The Indian aviation sector is likely to lose up to $4 billion in the financial year 2021, advisory firm CAPA India has said, raising the loss estimate from the earlier $3.6 billion. In a report released on July 3, CAPA India also talked of a higher capitalisation need for Indian airlines, up from $2.5 billion to $3.5 billion. Critically, the firm said the Indian aviation sector may be reduced to just two to three players, from more than half a dozen now, including Air India,  IndiGo ,  SpiceJet  and GoAir. "Consolidation is looking more likely and will result in a very significant change in the structure of the industry. India may be headed for a two-three airline market if timely recapitalisation does not happen," it said. SpiceJet considering Embraer jets to expand its fleet

SpiceJet, which has activated plans to place orders for new planes to expand its fleet strength, is considering  Embraer  jets for its fleet among others.  The Brazilian aircraft maker had late last year given a presentation on its aircraft to the  SpiceJet  management, which is exploring all options before taking a final call on the purchase order, top airline sources said here, adding at present, "all options are on the table".  If the budget carrier opts for Embraers along with other types of aircraft, it will become the second domestic carrier to have such planes, after regional airline Air Costa.  The now-defunct  Paramount Airways  also had an all-Embraer fleet when it was operational.  SpiceJet currently has a total of 41 aircraft in its fleet comprising 25 Boeing 737s, 14  Bombardier Q400s  and two leased A320 family Airbus planes.  "SpiceJet is evaluating all option before placing order for new aircra...
