Vistara registers 80% growth in passengers load in first four month of this year

Vistara today said that they have registered a year-on-year growth of 80 per cent in passengers flown during the first four month of the 2017 calendar year.

Vistara flew 1.15 million passengers between January and April 2017, compared to 640,000 during the same period the previous year, on the back of a fleet increase by 44 per cent during the period.

"The improved performance was driven by higher utilisation of aircraft compared to the same period last year, coupled with a 7 percentage point increase in its average load factors from 75 per cent to 82 per cent. The number of destinations flown increased by 46 per cent, from 13 to 19," the airline said in a release.

"Vistara has aggressively ramped up its network and aircraft utilisation in the last one year, and has also focused on filling its planes through a combination of attractive fares especially for those willing to plan and book in advance, along with improved network and superior customer experience. Our load factor in Economy Class has been the highest in the industry consistently for the last few months, with load factors in Premium Economy and Business Class growing steadily too," Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer, Vistara, was quoted in the release.
